In the years before Siri Singh Sahib Bhai Sahib Harbhajan Singh Khalsa Yogiji, also known as Yogi Bhajan, passed away, he worked with me on a translation of Japji Sahib into English. Japji Sahib was written by the first Sikh Master, Guru Nanak, in the early 1500s andĀ outlines the basicĀ teachings of Sikh Dharma, the fifth largest religion in the world.
While working with me on translating Japji Sahib, the Siri Singh Sahib, Yogi Bhajan, also shared certain instructions and requested that I continue translating the writings of the Sikh tradition into English.
To date – I am grateful to have published three poetic interpretations: Japji Sahib by Guru Nanak, Anand Sahib by the third Sikh Master, Guru Amar Das and Sukhmani Sahib by Guru Arjan Dev ji. (Click here to find out where you can get those books.)
However, there are many many other composition to translate. And not every one of those translations need to be physically published. So I have created this simple section for the website titles Gurbani Translations. As other pieces become complete, I will grateful share them with you through this site.
Thanks to those of you who come. I hope you find something here that makes your life a little lighter and your heart a little brighter.
